Quality Assurance Specialist

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at NESC Staffing, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of complex military products. This includes inspecting and testing incoming materials, collaborating with customers and suppliers, and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage quality methods and standards for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products during all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Plan, implement, and monitor process improvements.
- Generate and approve documentation changes.
- Review and disposition non-conforming material and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with customers, internal departments, suppliers, and others as needed.
- Negotiate quality standards with appropriate internal departments.
Specific Tasks:
Act as liaison/technical advisor to purchasing, production, and test departments.
Provide failure analysis for non-conforming and discrepant materials
Review production data and failures to initiate process improvements.
Generate and validate First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102.
Assess supplier quality capabilities throughout program life cycle including customer approved special processes.
Monitor supplier performance and use this data to maintain an approved vendor list (AVL) in conjunction with purchasing department.
Interpret purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure supplier understanding and develop product acceptance plans.
Inspect and manage incoming materials using critical and complex tests and tools to determine acceptability and quality specifications of materials.
Schedule and conduct quality audits with suppliers and work with them to resolve on-going product problems.
Report monthly on performance and areas of concern.
Conduct internal quality audits and report findings to management.
Participate in TQM initiatives in conducting daily tasks.
Develop and follow procedures consistent with quality system requirements.
Responsible for own safety and safety of others following company and OSHA safety guidelines.
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in contract manufacturing, preferred.
Not less than five (5) years' experience in the electronic field, or in quality assurance.
Must have knowledge of manufacturing process (assembly, test, and troubleshooting) of complex electrical assemblies.
Must be proficient with MS Office.
