Quality Engineer Role at Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) in Chelmsford, MA is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Review documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
  • Analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
  • Attend and lead program corrective action meetings, identify trends, assist in problem resolution, and ensure responsible parties meet commitments.
  • Participate as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards, which includes the disposition of non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause, and taking corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Perform assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality-related issues.
  • Utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
  • Make the final decision on acceptability of product.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline or higher.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications.

Desired Skills:

  • STEM degree with at least 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASQ CQE.
  • Discrete and/or Micro-electronics experience.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma application.
  • J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 familiarization.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
