Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the work of custodial staff, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to Library standards.
- Conduct building audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress.
- Oversee snow removal, grounds maintenance, and special assignments, ensuring timely completion.
- Manage inventory levels, replenish supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with Library managers, staff, and external vendors to ensure seamless operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong background in building cleaning or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license and a clear driving record.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard cleaning methods, materials safety handling, and experience ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Ability to perform manual work, including cleaning, heavy lifting, and working from high ladders and scaffolds.
- Some college education.
- Knowledge of mixing chemicals to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Knowledge of using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm, with evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Local NYC travel required.
- Lifting requirements: up to 50lbs.
- Moderate physical effort required.
