About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bridge Inspection Assistant to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of bridge inspection data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter data into the South Carolina Transportation Bridge Management System and the NCDOT Wigins database with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the preparation of bridge inspection reports, including organizing and entering inspector notes.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of bridge inspection procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with inspectors to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including data analysis and reporting.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of data entry experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and typing skills (at least 50 WPM) necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Word and Excel proficiency a plus.
  • Knowledge of Adobe, Print Station, Betterjpeg, and Google Maps a plus.
  • ProjectWise experience a plus.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and drive a bucket truck or a pickup. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
