We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Engineer - Structural Assessment to join our team at CONSOR Engineers. As a key member of our Structural Assessment team, you will be responsible for conducting safety inspections of bridges and other structures, preparing associated written technical reports and electronic drawings, and assisting inspections using various testing methods.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct safety inspections of bridges and other structures to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed written technical reports and electronic drawings to document inspection findings and recommendations.
- Assist inspections using various testing methods, including mechanized access machinery, climbing or diving equipment, and drones or sonar scanning devices.
- Mobilize to other offices or states as required to staff additional inspection teams.
- Perform additional structural assessment-related duties as assigned or required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Ability to work constructively in a team environment and grow to supervise other's work.
- Excellent communication and professional working relationships.
- Willingness to attend bridge inspection training courses based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM) and keep current with refresher and continuing education requirements.
- Must be open to traveling out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work.
- Ability to physically perform bridge inspection tasks in the field, including different types of access and conditions.
