Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Vehicle Maintenance: Safely drive and maintain our shower bus, HIV-testing RV, and company van to ensure they are in good working condition and compliant with safety and health regulations.
  • Program Services Delivery: Provide program services to clients from high-risk populations, following funder and regulatory requirements, best practices, and BCS policies and Core Values.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with unhoused individuals and service providers to increase health knowledge and self-sufficiency through outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and service reports.
  • Client Support: Escort clients to various appointments, ensure adherence to confidentiality regulations and HIPAA documentation, and participate in Team and departmental meetings.
  • Linkage Development: Develop linkages with local health and social service organizations to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Emergency Response: Respond appropriately to emergencies that may be encountered in the field, including overdoses.
  • Supply Management: Prepare, pack, and inventory syringes and related program supplies, and distribute high-risk prevention supplies.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver's License: Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Experience: Proven experience in operating and maintaining vehicles, preferably in a social services or outreach setting
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with unhoused individuals and service providers, and basic computer literacy
  • Language: Excellent English written and verbal skills; Bi-Lingual Spanish speaking is preferred
