Position Overview:
Community Hospital Corporation is in search of a proactive and seasoned Financial Executive Officer for Morehouse General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Executive Officer will lead and oversee the financial planning and operations of the hospital, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, values, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


The role involves evaluating the financial status of the organization and generating regular financial and operational reports. The officer will manage the hospital's financial planning, revenue cycle, payroll, and accounting practices, while also overseeing treasury functions, budgeting, auditing, taxation, purchasing, real estate, and insurance.


Policy Development:
The Financial Executive Officer will formulate and implement policies and procedures to protect assets and ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles. This includes ensuring accountability and reporting to governmental agencies and maintaining a fiscally responsible operational flow.


Relationship Management:
The officer will foster positive relationships and effective communication with lending institutions, the financial community, medical staff, employees, volunteers, community representatives, and board members.


Compliance and Strategic Planning:
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as accrediting agency standards, is essential. The officer will participate in the development of the facility's strategic plan and objectives to promote growth and service provision to the community.


Financial Oversight:
Involvement in the preparation and management of operating, project, and capital budgets is crucial. The officer will ensure effective risk management, financial controls, and productivity measures while meeting critical financial metrics.


Operational Analysis:
The Financial Executive Officer will analyze data from various sources to assess current business practices in finance, accounting, and information management. Identifying needs and implementing solutions to enhance financial operations is a key aspect of this role.


Staff Management:
Ensuring the availability of competent staff, including physicians and contract labor, is vital. The officer will direct performance management systems, providing feedback and addressing performance issues.


Community Engagement:
Working with community leaders to assess healthcare needs and promote hospital services is essential. The officer will actively participate in community service and demonstrate political savvy and diplomacy.


Quality Commitment:
Commitment to quality patient care and continuous improvement is paramount. The officer will monitor and report quality outcomes and maintain all necessary hospital accreditations and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare finance, including financial management, accounting systems, and risk management. A BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required, with a CPA designation preferred. A graduate-level degree is advantageous.


Experience in hospital finance and accounting, particularly in a CFO role, is essential, with 5-7 years of progressive experience required.
