Position Overview

Community Hospital Corporation is in search of a skilled and seasoned Financial Executive Officer for Morehouse General Hospital. This pivotal role involves leading and managing the overall financial strategy and operations of the hospital, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission, vision, and regulatory requirements.

The Financial Executive Officer evaluates the hospital's financial health and generates regular financial and operational reports. This position oversees the financial planning, revenue cycle management, payroll, and accounting functions, while also directing treasury, budgeting, auditing, taxation, procurement, real estate, and insurance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic plan and set short- and long-term objectives to foster growth and service delivery.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist in the preparation and management of operational, project, and capital budgets. Ensure effective risk management and financial controls are in place, meeting critical financial metrics.
  • Operational Analysis: Gather and analyze data to assess current business practices in finance and accounting. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance financial operations.
  • Staff Management: Ensure the availability of qualified personnel, including physicians and contract staff, who are properly trained and engaged. Oversee performance management systems to provide feedback and address performance issues.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with community leaders to evaluate healthcare needs and promote hospital services, while actively participating in community initiatives.

Additional Duties

  • Commit to high-quality patient care and continuously measure and report quality outcomes.
  • Maintain all necessary hospital accreditations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Supervisory Functions

  • Manage subordinate managers and oversee the performance of all units under supervision.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide staff development opportunities.
  • Address complaints and resolve issues effectively.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare finance, regulations, and best practices.
  • Expertise in financial management, accounting systems, and risk management.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on strategic management and problem-solving.
  • Strong customer service orientation and critical thinking abilities.
  • Minimum of a BS/BA in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in hospital finance, with prior experience as a CFO.
