Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, the Assistant Chief Financial Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of accounting standards within a digital accounting framework.

This role involves maintaining precise financial records and monitoring budgetary allocations while generating monthly financial reports and administrative documentation.

The Assistant CFO will manage and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other essential functions within the accounting division, including the financial oversight of grant-related activities.


Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant CFO acts as a vital support resource for the CFO in all financial and accounting matters.

This role includes maintaining comprehensive ledgers for various programs, preparing journal entries, conducting account analyses and reconciliations, closing monthly financial records, and establishing new accounts and budgets.

Additionally, this position will oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring proper coding of invoices, validating payment requests, and confirming that expenses are allocated to the correct accounts, including those related to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Financial Oversight:
Assist the CFO in formulating and executing financial strategies, policies, and operational procedures.

Supervise and direct various financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial disclosures.

Evaluate financial data, identify patterns, and offer recommendations for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure financial activities comply with applicable regulations, laws, and industry best practices.

Prepare financial documentation, reports, and presentations for the CFO.

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.

Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders across all levels.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Budget Development and Management:
Collaborate with program directors and departmental leaders to formulate annual budgets and financial strategies.

Monitor budget implementation, identify discrepancies, and suggest measures for cost reduction and revenue growth.

Assist in the creation of budget presentations.

Grant and Funding Oversight:
Coordinate and manage grant applications, ensuring adherence to grant stipulations and financial reporting requirements.

Devise financial strategies to maximize the use of available funding sources, including federal grants, loans, and tax incentives.

Work alongside other departments to ensure accurate financial monitoring and reporting for grant-funded initiatives.

Leadership and Team Collaboration:
Provide guidance and mentorship to finance department personnel.

Encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

Work collaboratively with other departments, such as human resources and operations, to ensure effective financial management and strategic planning throughout the organization.
