The role involves reviewing shop drawings and submittals, providing recommendations for approval or disapproval to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR), and notifying relevant parties of any identified safety hazards along with suggested corrective measures.

The Senior Construction Project Manager will verify the completion of identified corrections and participate in project meetings. It is crucial that this role does not alter the project scope, cost, duration, or schedule, nor obligate the organization in any manner. This position also entails managing project design and construction efforts, overseeing schedules, funding, and daily operations while evaluating contractor performance.

In addition, the Senior Construction Project Manager will coordinate with field personnel, assess and manage project change requests, and provide official weekly status updates. Effective communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders is essential, as is assisting the client's Contracting Officer and COTR with acquisition planning and execution.

The role includes preparing and monitoring project schedules and budgets, offering technical guidance on contracting and construction-related matters, directing design efforts, and recommending construction documents for approval. The Senior Construction Project Manager will also ensure the integration of all systems, including IT, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, while preparing Contractor Performance Reports upon contract closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and building codes.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, providing recommendations to the COTR.
  • Notify relevant parties of non-compliant safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Verify completion of corrections and actions identified during inspections.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage project design and construction efforts, including scheduling and funding.
  • Evaluate and manage construction contractor performance.
  • Coordinate projects with field personnel and manage project change requests.
  • Provide official weekly project status reports.
  • Assist with acquisition planning and execution alongside the client's Contracting Officer.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets, providing technical guidance.
  • Ensure integration of all systems within the project scope.
  • Prepare Contractor Performance Reports upon contract completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any field; relevant work experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in construction management.
  • Proficient in applying building codes and ADA requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to work in an operationally sensitive environment.
  • Ability to function in various work conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and independently.
