Position Overview

Summary:

The Certified Healthcare Assistant will engage in a variety of tasks and responsibilities that support patient care, including precise data entry for patient registration and verification of insurance details. This role requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and third-party payers. A professional and compassionate demeanor is essential.

Key Responsibilities:


• Adhere to the established competencies of OneCHRISTUS: Self-Leadership, Leadership of Others, or Leadership of Leaders.

• Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical services.

• Ensure accurate data entry for patient charges, manage patient registrations, and update patient records as necessary.

• Conduct insurance verification and maintain accurate statistical records.

• Assist in scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, keeping healthcare providers informed of any changes, and educating patients about their benefits.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
