POSITION SUMMARY

As an Ophthalmic Technician at PRISM Vision Group, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of ophthalmologists. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the success of our practice.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct ocular and systemic history and accurately record visual acuity.
• Review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Perform testing required by type of exam scheduled, patient complaint, and history.
• Assist with in-office procedures, ensuring proper informed consent is obtained, and set up and clean up from procedures.
• Assist in training of other ophthalmic assistants.
• Assist with patient education.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday.
• Comply with all practice procedures and protocols, as well as State and Federal regulations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline highly preferred.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification highly preferred.
• 2-4 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office environment with controlled atmosphere.
• Possible exposure to staff or patients with communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens.

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, face mask, eye shield, gown).
