Salary: $50,000 - $56,000, with a relocation stipend available for candidates moving from a distance.

Start Date: Immediate
Work Schedule:
- Summer Schedule: 10 am - 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday (including two 15-minute breaks), subject to annual summer needs.
- School Year Schedule: Afternoon/Evenings, Monday to Friday; 1:30 pm - 10 pm (including two 15-minute breaks), with potential slight adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:
DSST Public Schools is on the lookout for a Facilities Operations Assistant Manager to support the Facility Manager in maintaining a newly constructed, state-of-the-art educational facility. This role is vital in ensuring that students, staff, and the community benefit from a clean, well-maintained, and secure environment conducive to learning and personal development.
Regular School Year Duties:
- Supervise and provide constructive feedback to the evening custodial team, ensuring nightly task completion with high standards.
- Document, track, and report any unresolved issues to the Facility Manager.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks within the school.
- Address immediate facility requests from faculty and staff, including clean-up of spills and other urgent maintenance needs.
- Oversee the cleanliness of outdoor areas, ensuring daily removal of trash and debris, as well as snow and ice management when necessary.
- Assist with the receipt and placement of large deliveries.
- Conduct security checks, including arming the facility.
- Ensure gym cleanliness, including maintenance of courts, bleachers, and equipment.
- Manage setup and cleanup for various events, including athletics and after-school activities.
- Utilize work order software to address tasks and complete maintenance activities as directed.
- Organize and manage inventory within facility and supply closets.
- Respond to off-hours facility emergencies as directed by the Facility Manager or operations leadership.
Summer Break Focus Areas:
- Collaborate with the Facility Manager to create a maintenance and repair schedule.
- Assist in quality control and sign-off of custodial cleaning checklists.
- Update all combination locks on lockers.
- Utilize commercial-grade equipment for carpet cleaning.
- Support custodial deep cleaning activities by relocating furniture and equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in facility cleaning and light maintenance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community members.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safe operation of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance.
