Restaurant Manager Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
As a Restaurant Manager at RA Sushi, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, including managing front of the house employees, overseeing inventory and ordering of food and supplies, and ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all areas of the restaurant, including dining room, food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas.
  • Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints.
  • Supervise cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arrange for repairs and services.
  • Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the restaurant.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of departments.
  • Responsible for all data entry to ensure accuracy and completion in a timely and efficient manner.

Food Safety and Planning:
  • Ensure sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Supervise inventories and estimate food and beverage costs.
  • Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
  • Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies.

Financial:
  • Ensure the receipt of all orders to verify correct quantities and pricing.
  • Review financial information, including sales and costs, and monitor budgets to ensure efficient operation.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs.

Employee Related:
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Interview, select, and hire hourly employees.
  • Conduct new hire orientations, train employees on the mission, culture, and guest experience objectives.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.

Requirements:
  • One to three years of management-level hospitality and/or restaurant work experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports.
  • Previous experience in teppanyaki-style restaurant preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license where applicable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must agree to background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ServSafe certified alcohol service certified preferred.
