Job Overview

As a pivotal leader at Optimum, you will be responsible for managing the Retail Store operations, ensuring that sales targets, productivity metrics, and service quality standards are consistently achieved. Your role will involve mentoring and engaging with both employees and customers to foster a positive shopping experience. You will address escalated customer issues with professionalism and ensure effective resolutions are implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance of Retail Store staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance customer satisfaction and identify training needs.
  • Ensure precise cash handling procedures are followed, including training staff on accuracy and auditing processes.
  • Facilitate the development of a skilled Retail Sales team through effective coaching, motivation, and performance recognition.
  • Conduct regular assessments in line with company policies to guarantee high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in maintaining employee records, including payroll and attendance documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate opening and closing procedures for the Retail Store.
  • Support management in controlling expenses, including overtime and departmental costs.
  • Report any significant cash discrepancies and take necessary disciplinary actions when required.
  • Participate in and lead regular departmental meetings and conference calls.
  • Communicate sales objectives clearly to each Retail Sales Associate and monitor their performance daily.
  • Develop and implement effective retail sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Drive sales of Optimum products and services while maintaining operational efficiency for maximum profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for merchandising displays and planograms.
  • Collaborate with other channels to enhance store traffic and engage in events that promote store visibility.
  • Be prepared to travel to various store locations as needed.
  • Supervise and manage staff performance, attendance, and training requirements.
  • Assist the Retail Market Manager with recruitment, performance evaluations, and action plans for underperforming staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business preferred; High School diploma required; a minimum of five years of relevant sales experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • At least three years of experience in a high-volume customer service, sales, or retail setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential in a dynamic retail environment, with potential extended hours during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong supervisory skills, including coaching, mentoring, and time management.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to multiple locations as required.
  • Excellent listening, analytical problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to lead a high-performance sales team.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 35 pounds for extended periods.
