Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join the Surgery/Colon & Rectal team. This role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services.

Position Details

The Physician Assistant will work a standard schedule of 80 hours over two weeks, primarily during the day with no weekend shifts. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the operating room and endoscopy as required.
  • Providing care in the outpatient clinic, including patient evaluations.
  • Performing robotic surgery docking and undocking for colorectal procedures.
  • Educating and caring for patients with colostomy and ileostomy needs.
  • Supporting office procedures for outpatient anorectal conditions.
  • Instructing patients on surgical site infection prevention.
  • Guiding patients on bowel preparation and anticoagulation management for outpatient procedures.
  • Rounding on inpatients with colorectal conditions.
  • Collaborating with the GI team for IBD patient care.
  • Conducting screenings for HIV and HPV using high-resolution anoscopy.
  • Following up on diagnostic results for colorectal cancer patients.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant certification/license.
  • Current registration as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • Certification from the NCCPA.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • ACLS/BLS certification is required.
