Opportunity Details

The Physician Assistant will be expected to fulfill a standard schedule of 80 hours over a two-week period, primarily during daytime hours with no weekend shifts. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the operating room and endoscopy as required.
  • Providing care in the outpatient clinic, including patient evaluations.
  • Managing robotic surgery docking and undocking for colorectal procedures.
  • Educating and caring for patients with colostomy and ileostomy.
  • Supporting office procedures for outpatient anorectal conditions.
  • Instructing patients on preventive measures for surgical site infections.
  • Guiding patients through bowel preparation and anticoagulation protocols for outpatient colonoscopies.
  • Rounding on inpatients with colorectal conditions.
  • Collaborating with the GI team for IBD patient care.
  • Screening patients for HIV and HPV using high-resolution anoscopy.
  • Following up on colorectal cancer patients’ test results and imaging studies.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant certification/license.
  • Current registration as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • Certification from the NCCPA.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • ACLS/BLS certification is required.
