Position Overview: The Department of the Navy is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee and enhance food service operations within Navy Ashore galleys, ensuring optimal support for military dining facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive food service strategies and policies.
- Engage in collaborative discussions with Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy representatives to advance food service operations, including the innovation of nutritional menus and the evaluation of food service equipment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of installation food service operations to ensure compliance and operational excellence across Navy ashore galleys.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to subordinate commands regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of food service operations.
- Prepare and deliver briefings to leadership on significant updates regarding food service programs, policy modifications, and emerging trends.
- Manage the programming budget and oversee the allocation of funds for the Galley Program.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and suitable for federal employment. Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory. Candidates should possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized Experience: Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
- Managing or developing a DoD Food Service Program.
- Advising on operational improvements for DoD Food Service Programs.
- Overseeing budget management and fund allocation for food service initiatives.
- Reviewing and advising on various food service contract types.
Additional Information: This position may require travel to various locations, including remote sites. Candidates must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods. A security clearance may be required prior to employment.
