Role Overview:

The Head of Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy and Planning is a pivotal leadership position that utilizes data to inform insights and strategies, overseeing our annual and quarterly leadership cycles to align GTM strategies and objectives while optimizing performance across GTM leadership teams.

This role manages a talented team of analysts and planners and collaborates closely with Finance, HR, CIO, and GTM management, serving as the authority on GTM data and ensuring transparency and alignment on critical performance metrics.


Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Build, develop, and cultivate a high-performing, engaged team of analysts and planners that embodies Amplitude's culture and values. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and expertise. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the GTM organization.


Strategic Insights:

Act as the subject matter expert in GTM performance data, transforming data into actionable insights and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and performance metrics. Maintain a single source of truth for GTM strategy, goals, and KPIs, from board reporting to functional quarterly business reviews (QBRs). Oversee the integrity of GTM segmentation and empower GTM teams with real-time data to drive business outcomes effectively.


GTM Strategy & Initiatives:

Lead the advancement of GTM strategies and initiatives to ensure effective implementation across teams. Identify and spearhead initiatives that enhance the leverage, quality, and impact of GTM data, including targeting, account, contact, and segmentation data.

Collaborate with Customer Experience (CE) to establish a unified performance data source for GTM, determining the optimal use of this data across teams and systems.


GTM Planning:

Direct the GTM planning process and quarterly leadership cycles, ensuring alignment and transparency of goals and KPIs with strategic objectives. Facilitate a streamlined, collaborative cross-functional planning process that emphasizes stakeholder engagement and timely, quality deliverables.

Oversee the quarterly and subsequent business reporting rhythms, ensuring accuracy and alignment in data and analysis, while coordinating communication for leadership and geographical QBRs. Proactively identify gaps in planning and engage the appropriate stakeholders to address them.


Key Requirements:

8+ years of successful technology leadership experience in dynamic high-tech environments, with a proven track record in leading GTM Strategy, Analytics, Operations, or Planning teams to achieve significant business impact. Strong understanding of GTM strategies to enhance growth and productivity across Marketing, Sales, and Service.

Exceptional data analytics and modeling capabilities, with proficiency in developing quality models on metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Renewals, Productivity, Capacity, and Profitability. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills, complemented by a strong executive presence.

A degree or Master's in business or technology-related fields is preferred but not mandatory. This role offers equity, benefits, and various forms of compensation.
