We are currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in addressing technical challenges and delivering support across various operational areas. Candidates who meet the following qualifications are encouraged to consider this opportunity:

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of a Community College diploma is mandatory; a university degree is preferred or equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems in a manufacturing environment is advantageous. Proficiency in general PC repairs and software applications is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and the local language where applicable.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the capability to document processes and procedures effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of desktop hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network systems, protocols, and server hardware.
Role Overview
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by system and network engineering teams regarding the planning and support of desktop, WAN, LAN, servers, and disaster recovery.
  • Provide diagnostic assistance to System and Network Engineering Teams and the Service Desk in relation to desktops, WAN, LAN, and servers, while documenting site-specific network and server details.
  • Deliver first-level support for incident management and assist with problem and change management activities, including after-hours support as necessary.
  • Take on additional IT support responsibilities based on plant needs and skill set, such as generating ad hoc reports using tools like Qlik Sense and PowerBI.
  • Communicate site IT downtimes and production schedule changes through established protocols.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of critical operational software and processes to provide effective support and training to users.
  • Enhance technical knowledge of essential operational software applications and IT procedures to deliver comprehensive IT support.
  • Execute hands-on troubleshooting and modifications at the desktop level, including software installations, hardware upgrades, and file backup management.
  • Coordinate IT equipment repairs, oversee the inventory of spare IT equipment, and maintain a repair log as directed.
  • Adhere to IT purchasing and asset tracking protocols, including updating inventory and managing the decommissioning of outdated assets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
