Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Family Health Source. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Communication: Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner, providing clear and concise information about their care and treatment.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments and testing/referrals according to Family Health Source policies, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify patient insurance eligibility and process billing and collections in accordance with medical billing and collection practices.
  • Medical Records and Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, performing data entry and documentation in accordance with EMR policy documentation requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient office operations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with changing healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and OIG guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of medical office or customer service experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, data entry experience, knowledge of medical billing and collection practices, and basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
Work Environment

Our office is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be working in a healthcare setting with frequent interactions with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. You will be required to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for 1-2 hours at a time, and walk for 5-10 minutes at a time throughout the day.
