Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Family Health Source. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collect and process patient payments and balances in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Schedule appointments and testing/referrals as needed to support other departments.
  • Confirm appointments and perform insurance eligibility verification to ensure timely and accurate care.
  • Document phone calls and conversations with patients in their medical records.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Assist with maintaining medical records, office equipment, and a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years of medical office or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and collection practices, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced medical office environment. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for 1-2 hours at a time, and walk for short distances throughout the day. The role also requires frequent use of hands, fingers, and speaking, as well as occasional climbing and grasping.
