- Collect and process patient payments and balances in a timely and accurate manner.
- Answer and direct patient calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule appointments and testing/referrals as needed to support other departments.
- Confirm appointments and perform insurance eligibility verification to ensure timely and accurate care.
- Document phone calls and conversations with patients in their medical records.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Assist with maintaining medical records, office equipment, and a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.
This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced medical office environment. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for 1-2 hours at a time, and walk for short distances throughout the day. The ability to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on business need.
