Job Overview

Position: Commercial Lines Account Manager

Objective and Overview:

The role entails managing commercial accounts as designated by the management team. This includes handling and processing all new business, renewals, and endorsements, along with entering all accounts receivable into the agency's computer system. The position requires collaboration with clients, producers, associations, and insurance companies to address client inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounts (quotations, new business, renewals, contract assessments, endorsements, and cancellations) as directed by departmental leadership.
  • Generate new business and renewal quotes and proposals for small to mid-sized commercial clients. Engage in special projects as requested.
  • Process and manage specifically assigned new business and renewals in accordance with departmental and company underwriting standards. This includes invoicing and ensuring the proper completion of initial applications.
  • Examine and evaluate all incoming applications and related documentation; if additional documentation is necessary, communicate with the Client, Management, or Account Executive to ensure timely completion.
  • Evaluate all inquiries from Clients, both routine and complex. Ensure follow-up on all requests within the service standards established by management.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of any company audits and resolve discrepancies between the Client and Company following the Account Manager Procedure Manual and AMS Procedure Manual.
  • Maintain an updated renewal expiration list and ensure all renewals are processed promptly.
  • Complete all invoicing, credit reconciliations, and manage outstanding collections.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are necessary for the employee to effectively perform the essential functions of the role.

  1. Skills/Knowledge: Exceptional communication skills are essential. Strong analytical abilities are required, including the capacity to assess and determine account acceptability. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are critical. Proficiency in computer operations is necessary, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and AMS 360.
  2. Experience/Education: A minimum of three years of experience in a Commercial Lines Department within a company or agency is preferred, along with CIC, CPCU, or equivalent certification. A State Producer's License is mandatory. The candidate must possess the ability to analyze and comprehend commercial insurance products, including but not limited to EPL, EBL, D&O, and bonding.
