Commercial Lines Account Manager
Objective and Overview:
The role involves managing and servicing commercial insurance accounts as designated by the management team. This encompasses handling and processing all aspects of new business, renewals, and endorsements, in addition to entering all accounts receivable into the agency's information system. The position requires collaboration with clients, producers, associations, and insurance companies to address client inquiries and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all assigned accounts, including quotes, new business, renewals, contract evaluations, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Generate new business and renewal quotes and proposals for small to mid-sized commercial clients, along with special projects as needed.
- Process and manage specifically assigned new business and renewals in accordance with departmental and company underwriting standards, which includes invoicing and ensuring the accurate completion of initial applications.
- Examine and assess all incoming applications and related documentation; if additional information is necessary, liaise with the Client, Management, or Account Executive to ensure timely completion.
- Evaluate all client inquiries, both routine and complex, ensuring follow-up on all requests within the service standards established by management.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of any company audits and resolve discrepancies between the Client and Company, following the Account Manager Procedure Manual and AMS Procedure Manual.
- Maintain an updated renewal expiration list and ensure timely processing of all renewals.
- Complete all invoicing, credit reconciliations, and manage outstanding collections.
Essential Qualifications:
The following qualifications are necessary for the employee to effectively perform the essential functions of the role.
- Skills/Knowledge: Exceptional communication skills are essential. Strong analytical abilities are required, including the capacity to evaluate and determine account acceptability. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are critical. Proficiency in computer operations is essential, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and AMS 360.
- Experience/Education: A minimum of three years of experience in a Commercial Lines Department within a company or agency is preferred, along with completion of CIC, CPCU, or equivalent programs. A State Producer's License is required. The candidate must possess the ability to analyze and comprehend commercial insurance products, including but not limited to EPL, EBL, D&O, and bonding.
