POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing business-to-business billing processes. This includes reviewing documentation, processing invoices, and monitoring unbilled loads to ensure accurate and timely billing. The role involves making and receiving calls to collect outstanding payments, addressing customer inquiries, and fostering a positive environment among colleagues and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and contact customers with overdue accounts via email or phone to request payment.
  • Track overdue accounts using various automated systems and tools.
  • Engage with customers to understand reasons for delayed payments and discuss service terms or credit agreements.
  • Resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts effectively.
  • Guide customers on necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.
  • Maintain accurate and updated notes on all accounts after customer interactions.
  • Send monthly Accounts Receivable Statements to customers.
  • Timely escalate collection issues to management as needed.
  • Encourage customers to settle amounts due within the agreed payment terms.
  • Establish repayment plans based on customers' financial circumstances.
  • Perform administrative tasks for assigned accounts, including updating customer records.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to address any internal issues affecting customer payments.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior experience in B2B or commercial collections
  • Minimum of 2 years in collections

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Great Plains software
  • Experience with TMW and MS Excel
