JOB OVERVIEW:

Steward Health Care is seeking a meticulous Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the highest standards of surgical instrument management. In this role, you will be tasked with preparing case carts filled with necessary supplies and instruments for surgical operations. Your core responsibilities will encompass the cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical tools, alongside overseeing inventory and distributing consumables as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Upholding the facility's standards in accordance with our Mission, Vision, and values.
  • Complying with HIPAA regulations to safeguard Protected Health Information.
  • Fostering a safe environment for patients and staff through adherence to established protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in managing surgical supplies and instruments is preferred.
  • License/Certification: Required to possess certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (RCST), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD), or demonstrate commitment to obtaining certification within the first year of employment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in interpreting information from requisitions and count sheets.
    • Excellent verbal communication abilities.
    • Strong analytical skills for precise assembly of surgical instruments.
    • Basic proficiency in computer usage.
    • Physical endurance to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to manage blood and bodily fluids safely.
