JOB OVERVIEW:

Steward Health Care is seeking a meticulous Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the highest standards of sterilization and supply management. In this role, you will be tasked with preparing surgical case carts filled with necessary instruments and supplies for various procedures. Your core responsibilities will encompass the cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and proper storage of surgical tools, alongside overseeing inventory and distributing consumables as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Upholding the facility's standards in accordance with our Mission, Vision, and values.
  • Complying with HIPAA regulations to safeguard Protected Health Information.
  • Fostering a safe environment for both patients and staff through adherence to established protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in managing surgical instruments and supplies is preferred.
  • License/Certification: Candidates must possess certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (RCST), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD), or be willing to obtain certification within the first year of employment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to accurately interpret information from requisitions and count sheets.
    • Excellent verbal communication abilities.
    • Strong analytical skills for precise assembly of surgical instruments.
    • Basic proficiency in computer usage.
    • Physical endurance to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to manage blood and bodily fluids safely.
