About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in the early detection of hearing loss in newborns.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, providing accurate and timely results.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results, maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with confirming or rescheduling outpatient appointments, addressing equipment issues, and training new staff.
  • Perform newborn hearing screens, verify insurance information, document results accurately, and follow protocol for timely submission of billing.
  • Adhere to hospital, company, and program policies, including infection control, safety awareness, and security protocols.
  • Recognize potential problems and seek assistance when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months of related experience in a hospital setting, preferably working with infants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
