Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Test Technician 4 in Ultrasonics to join our Mission Assurance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing and evaluation of materials using ultrasonic inspection equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret technical instructions and procedures for completeness and accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasonic inspection equipment, including automated systems.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, and perform process control checks.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results, and report findings as required.
  • Provide on-the-job training to Level 1 NDT Inspectors and fellow Level 2 NDT Inspectors.
  • Travel up to 80% of the time, with occasional extended stays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and Level 2 Certification in Ultrasonics.
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in ultrasonic testing, using automated and handheld pulse echo units.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be willing to work any shift, overtime, or non-standard work schedule.
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance, and ability to obtain Special Program Access within a reasonable period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated UT inspection systems.
  • Experience with multiple brands of flaw detectors.
  • Experience in interpreting flaws in composite materials.
  • Certification in other NDT methods, such as Liquid Penetrant, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, or Radiography.

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $74,900 - $124,800, as well as a variety of benefits, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.
