Position Summary: Assess, authorize, or recommend the approval of commercial financing. Guide clients on their financial standing and payment strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish, nurture, and sustain a substantial portfolio of small business connections.
- Forge relationships that are financially sound, deposit-rich, and in line with the Bank's strategic objectives.
- Engage with applicants to gather information for loan submissions and clarify the process.
- Evaluate applicants' financial conditions, creditworthiness, and asset assessments to determine the viability of loan approvals through a structured review.
- Initiate and finalize new loans for current clients and prospects in accordance with the Bank's lending policies and regulatory requirements.
- Present new loan applications and relevant reports to the appropriate decision-making bodies within the Bank.
- Stay informed about emerging loan types and financial products to effectively address client needs.
- Submit loan applications to credit analysts for validation and recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients to identify their financial objectives and strategize on achieving those goals.
- Work with team leaders to resolve any issues related to commercial loan applications.
- Manage and expand an active Small Business loan portfolio through regular assessments.
- Promote additional bank offerings, including deposit services, cash management, merchant services, and wealth management.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and prospects.
- Coordinate with the Bank's residential division to refer new business opportunities.
- Assist in the management and resolution of troubled or non-performing assets.
- Represent the Bank at various community events.
- Participate in Bank committees and task forces as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in credit evaluation or analysis with a strong capability in financial statement assessment.
- Significant experience in portfolio management, business development, and risk management.
- Thorough understanding of financial institution policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of small business and SBA lending practices.
- In-depth knowledge of all SBA Loan Programs including 7(a), 504, and Express.
- Familiarity with departmental support structures and resources.
- Excellent sales, organizational, communication, and public relations skills, especially in handling specialized documentation.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to build robust relationships across the organization, adapt to change, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate reliability and self-motivation.
- Exceptional customer service skills, aiming to exceed client expectations.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of ten years' experience in small business and SBA lending.
- Knowledgeable in federal and state banking regulations and laws.
- Understanding of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Standard business office setting.
