Job Overview

BGE Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager specializing in Roadway and Highway projects within our Construction Management Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact between the contractor, lead engineering consultants, and the Program Management Team.
  • Possess experience in Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI).
  • Ensure adherence to the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Oversee construction progress and ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify any constructability challenges, plan discrepancies, potential delays, and extra cost implications, while proposing solutions for any identified deficiencies.
  • Facilitate Contractor Progress Meetings and provide updates during Program Management Meetings.
  • Report on project status, including overall progress, costs incurred, pending and upcoming change orders, and remaining contingency.
  • Recommend approval for all payment estimates, including the review and update of all Monthly Overhead (MOH).
  • Assess remaining quantities of bid items and identify any potential overruns or underruns.
  • Review and respond to all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Provide final design oversight when necessary, including signing and sealing revisions to project plans.
  • Coordinate with the Program Management Consultant (PMC) team if design engineering services are needed.
  • Review and approve project bid item work packages.
  • Review and sign all Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) upon completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
  • Evaluate and monitor all Value Engineering Proposals.
  • Verify that the contractor's proposed schedules are realistic and adhered to.
  • Address construction issues that arise on-site and work towards effective resolutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 5-10 years of experience in roadway and highway construction.
  • Familiarity with TxDOT specifications and proficiency in Site Manager.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
