This position operates under the guidance of the Director of the Maintenance and Construction department, allowing for significant autonomy and independent decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:1. Serve as the Owner's Representative for the development of the new hospital project. Establish and monitor project timelines for assigned initiatives, managing all phases from design to construction and final completion. (25%)
2. Direct and manage the services provided by professional service providers, ensuring that supplemental services for the capital construction project are effectively coordinated. (25%)
3. Oversee the administration of construction contracts, including the review and approval of change orders and construction draws necessary for vendor payments. (25%)
4. Review codes and departmental regulations to ensure compliance with current standards and provide solutions for any discrepancies. (20%)
5. Offer additional technical services and manage special projects as directed by the Director of Maintenance & Construction. (5%)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of project management principles applicable to commercial construction; familiarity with systems for evaluating vendor performance; and knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Proficient in project monitoring and adept at managing changes in project scope and budget while keeping to the established timeline.
Strong decision-making abilities, with skills in analyzing complex information, identifying project risks, and preparing detailed reports. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in the use of personal computers and relevant software applications.
