The Food Service Assistant is a vital member of our team at the Good Samaritan Society, responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food service to our residents. This role involves monitoring and recording the proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record the proper temperature of food to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, including tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Prepare and serve food items, including menu planning and preparation.
  • Restock food areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and pantries.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, including dishwashers, grills, and beverage machines.
  • Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money.
  • Knowledge of food service and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
