Job Overview

Fristam Pumps USA, a prominent producer of pumps and mixers for the food, dairy, and pharmaceutical sectors, is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Polishing & Welding division as a Manufacturing Team Leader. This role entails overseeing, coordinating, and managing the daily operations of production staff across designated shifts, ensuring that the department is equipped with the necessary resources to achieve organizational objectives while maintaining quality standards for all pump components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute supervisory duties, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures; plan, allocate, and direct workloads for team members; conduct annual performance evaluations and handle disciplinary matters; address and resolve employee concerns; provide training and development opportunities; review and authorize timesheets and leave requests.
  • Optimize workload prioritization to ensure efficient parts workflow and meet daily production targets; adapt priorities as necessary with minimal disruption.
  • Oversee and approve departmental spending for supplies, materials, and staffing; ensure effective and efficient use of resources to meet production goals.
  • Establish and uphold standard procedures for polishing and welding; innovate new processes as required.
  • Set departmental objectives and create performance metrics to achieve these goals; regularly communicate updates on departmental performance and improvements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development by ensuring proper training and cross-training within the department.
  • Support the Business Management System, engage in 5S initiatives, conduct workplace scans, and participate in cycle counting.
  • Encourage and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in management, business, or a relevant technical field; equivalent experience combined with post-secondary education and/or technical training will be considered.
  • At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, leading a diverse team.
  • Preferred experience in TIG welding; knowledge of welding techniques and applications is essential.
  • Fluency in Spanish, including reading and writing capabilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, budgeting, and achieving production standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information to various audiences.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong skills in ERP or related systems.
