Job Title:
Plant Manager
Organizational Context:
The Plant Manager is accountable to the Regional Operations Director for Industrial Adhesives, AMAS.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and management for all facets of the plant's operations.
Ensure the plant operates safely and complies with all legal and regulatory standards.
Meet and exceed site and business Key Performance Indicators.
Direct reports encompass Production Manager, EH&S Manager, Quality Manager, Technical Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive EHS Program aimed at achieving zero safety or environmental incidents while ensuring full compliance with EHS regulations.
Promote best-in-class 5S and housekeeping standards.
Lead the site’s adherence to the Quality Management System and work towards reducing the costs associated with poor quality.
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Director to establish the plant's vision and growth strategies, executing business and operational plans to meet revenue, profit, and performance targets.
Foster a culture of root cause analysis utilizing problem-solving tools to minimize recurring issues.Work closely with Customer Service, Product Line Management, and Sales to optimize On-Time Delivery results while achieving financial and inventory objectives for the plant(s).
Ensure the Manufacturing Expense Budget is met for the plant.Champion a culture of continuous improvement in operational excellence.
Identify and implement initiatives to generate cost savings across fixed costs, variable costs, and productivity improvements.
Employ lean six sigma methodologies to enhance site productivity. Utilize OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) and VSM (Value Stream Mapping) to drive improvements.Ensure small capital expenditure projects are led and executed by the plant team while participating in larger capital projects as outlined by the stage gate process.
Communicate plant needs, challenges, and successes to the plant, business team, and executive team.Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement where all associates are engaged in the enhancement process, ensuring constant interaction with plant leadership and associates on the floor.
Collaborate with R&D to support new product introduction initiatives and product enhancements.Prioritize plant challenges based on operational and business needs, providing clear guidance to the team.
Achieve plant objectives by fostering a collaborative and dynamic culture through engagement, team building, and accountability across various disciplines. Eliminate barriers and siloed thinking.
Work Environment:
A dynamic and fast-paced setting where involvement in diverse functions and activities is expected.
Engage in activities both within and outside the plant.
Frequent use of computer software, both PC-based and enterprise systems, combined with regular interpersonal communication.
Anticipate spending at least 25% of your time on the shop floor collaborating with the site leadership team, supervisors, and operators.
Lead through the plant leadership team while setting a positive example on the floor.Occasional travel may be required, up to 5-15%, for business meetings and other responsibilities.

Qualifications / Experience Required:
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations Management as a Plant Manager or over 10 years as a production/operations manager of a large facility.
Experience in a PSM or other regulated facility is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and lead teams. Demonstrated capability to drive change.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
