About the Role

Lennar Homes is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to lead our architecture program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing external consultants and internal resources to ensure quality, compliant, and efficient construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and supervise outside consultants to develop new plans, ensuring architectural and structural drawings are completed on schedule and in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Manage and direct the process for revisions to plans, including change notifications.
  • Identify upcoming product needs and elevate/respond to such needs accordingly.
  • Prepare scopes of work for outside architectural and drafting consultants.
  • Conduct code research and tracking of ongoing code updates, proactively seeking information on impending building code changes to ensure compliance.
  • Initiate and direct product design charrettes for developing new products.
  • Communicate with internal and consultant team members about the status of architectural and structural plan development, and create and maintain a master architecture schedule.
  • Refine architectural and structural plan details to enhance constructability, ensure conformance with building codes and municipality requirements, and minimize company exposure to warranty issues.
  • Manage value engineering meetings with internal team members and outside consultants to capture identified savings.
  • Facilitate and direct prototype plan walks, documenting and distributing changes and coordinating plan revisions.
  • Maintain a Division plan library, including architectural and structural plans, cabinet layouts, electrical layouts, and floor break diagrams.
  • Evaluate and determine the constructability of structures based on library research, making recommendations for structural adjustments.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department to ensure the accuracy and completeness of current marketing materials and efforts based on the status of architectural plans.
  • Support the land acquisition and entitlements processes as needed by supplying architecture information.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree in Architecture, design, or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years' experience in residential architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift, walk, move, and/or carry equipment in excess of 20 pounds. Must have finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
