About This Opportunity

Our 10-week summer internship program offers students a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You'll work closely with our Catastrophe Analytics team, Underwriters, and Actuarial teams to develop your skills and expertise. You'll have the opportunity to participate in learning activities, receive ongoing feedback, and contribute to real-world projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our Catastrophe Analytics team to provide portfolio analytics, modeling results, and actionable insights.
  • Validate and analyze data using catastrophe models.
  • Perform portfolio risk assessments.
  • Investigate new and innovative 3rd party data for use in underwriting processes.
  • Support our event response function in case of a catastrophic event.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • College-level student (Junior, Senior, or Graduate).
  • Proficient in Python programming language.
  • SQL experience a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to continuously learn.
  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Arrangement

  • This is a hybrid position, with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote.
  • Location: Boston, MA.
  • Relocation and housing assistance not provided.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $22-30 (dependent on qualifications and experience).
