Position Summary: We are in search of a reliable full-time Medical Assistant or EMT to join our advanced urgent care facility. The ideal candidate should possess a friendly demeanor, outstanding communication abilities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Work Schedule: Full-time positions require a commitment of hours per week with rotating weekend shifts. Part-time roles involve hours per week with similar weekend coverage. Per-diem opportunities necessitate a minimum of hours per month.

Key Responsibilities: Under the guidance of a clinical provider, the Medical Assistant or EMT will perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • Recording vital signs and medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for examinations.
  • Assisting with IVs, blood draws, ECGs, and diagnostic testing.
  • Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and necessary instruments.
  • Applying splints and dressings, ensuring proper sterilization of equipment.
  • Supporting physicians during minor surgical procedures and physical examinations.
  • Managing phlebotomy and related laboratory documentation.
  • Dispensing medications as instructed.
  • Educating patients on discharge instructions when applicable.
  • Addressing patient concerns within the scope of the role.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current AREMT certification.
  • 1-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology and practices.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and office equipment.
  • Organizational skills to ensure efficient workflow.

Work Environment: This position operates within a medical office setting, which may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other clinical conditions.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates a full range of motion, including manual dexterity and coordination. Candidates should be prepared for extended periods of standing and walking, with the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
