Position Summary: We are in search of a reliable full-time Medical Assistant or EMT to join our advanced urgent care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, outstanding communication abilities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Work Schedule: Full-time positions require shifts per week, including rotating weekend coverage. Part-time roles entail shifts per week, also with weekend rotations. Per-diem positions necessitate a minimum of shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities: Under the guidance of a clinical provider, the Medical Assistant or EMT will be responsible for:
- Taking and documenting vital signs and medical histories.
- Preparing patients for examinations.
- Assisting with IV/Blood draws, ECGs, and office diagnostic tests.
- Preparing patients for x-rays and aiding in wound care and splinting.
- Administering medications as directed by the physician.
Additional Duties: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring examination and treatment rooms are equipped with necessary instruments.
- Conducting patient history assessments and recording vital signs.
- Applying dressings and splints, maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Supporting physicians during minor surgeries and physical examinations.
- Performing phlebotomy and managing laboratory documentation.
- Educating patients on discharge instructions when applicable.
- Addressing patient concerns within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current AREMT certification.
- 1-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT.
Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative in problem-solving and recommending solutions.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficient in basic medical terminology and practices.
- Familiarity with computer systems and office equipment.
- Organizational and analytical skills to ensure efficient workflow.
Work Environment: This position operates within a medical office setting, which may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other clinic-related conditions.
Physical Requirements: The role demands a full range of body motion, including manual dexterity and coordination. Candidates should be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
