Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in our dermatology practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in providing high-quality medical care to our patients.
Responsibilities include greeting and interacting with patients, collecting patient intake information, responding to patient inquiries, and performing various administrative and clinical tasks. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with surgical procedures.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with dermatological procedures and surgeries, including setting up and sterilizing instruments and completing documentation logs.
- Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and numbing injections.
- Maintain medical terminology knowledge, especially as it pertains to dermatology.
- Professionally respond to patient inquiries and communicate aftercare follow-up instructions to patients.
- Help room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
- Perform in-room scribing with medical providers throughout appointments and ensure accuracy in all charting activities.
- Assist with ordering and inventory of medical supplies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by adhering to all HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing all related tasks as needed.
- Provide superior customer service excellence.
- Medical Assistant experience or equivalent in a high-volume medical setting with the ability to read, write, and interpret medical terminology.
- Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with either CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification -OR- Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred.
- Previous experience scribing in the room for the provider.
- Current CPR, First Aid, or BLS certificate.
- Ability to speak other languages a plus.
- Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull, and reach; bend; stand, walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime when necessary.
- Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
On-Site Presence Required and must have reliable transportation.
