Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our team of healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care at Waccamaw Dermatology, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks, including patient intake, medical procedures, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with dermatological procedures and surgeries, including setting up and sterilizing instruments and completing documentation logs.
- Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and numbing injections.
- Maintain medical terminology knowledge and respond to patient inquiries.
- Professionally greet patients, record medical histories, and take vital signs.
- Help room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
- Communicate aftercare follow-up instructions to patients.
- Perform in-room scribing with medical providers and ensure accuracy in all charting activities.
- Assist with ordering and inventory of medical supplies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by adhering to HIPAA and OSHA rules.
- Medical Assistant experience or equivalent in a high-volume medical setting.
- Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification.
- Previous experience scribing in the room for a provider.
- Current CPR, First Aid, or BLS certificate.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull, and reach; bend; stand, walk for extended periods of time. Ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime when necessary.
On-site presence required and must have reliable transportation between the hours of 7:00am-5:30pm as assigned.
