About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Operations Manager to join our team at Kimpton Sawyer Hotel. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing the day-to-day operations of our bar and lounge outlets, and ensuring that our guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide guests with quality customer service by demonstrating excellent food and beverage knowledge, serving guests during their visit, and assisting in the preparation of beverage service.
  • Operations Management: Manage the day-to-day activities of one or more bar/lounge outlets, including inventory management, cost control, vendor relations, and procurement of allocated spirits.
  • Training and Development: Provide training, support, and mentoring to staff, and establish a safe and positive work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Scheduling and Labor Management: Schedule employees appropriately based on budgeted labor costs and business levels, and ensure that the schedule is displayed/published promptly every week.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kimpton's policies and applicable laws, and conduct quarterly Kimpton Check-Ins with all direct reports.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of hotel/restaurant/bar management experience.
  • Skills and Certifications: Advanced knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology, Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification(s) required.
  • Experience: Experience in implementing new beverage concepts, beverage costing, and budgeting, as well as experience using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, POS systems, etc.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, able to work weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.
