Intake Coordinator

The Intake Coordinator - Resident Services is a critical role at St. Matthew's House Inc, responsible for overseeing all resident intakes, initiating resident familiarity with program guidelines, and assessing individual qualifications for admission. This position works closely with the Intake Manager, Motivational Track Manager, and Shelter Directors to ensure a safe and appropriate transition for each new resident to their respective program.
Key Responsibilities- Intake Process Management: Ensure that all intakes are completed with Matthew 25: 35-45 principles at the Ft. Myers shelter.
- Eligibility Assessment: Assess the appropriateness and eligibility of potential residents prior to admission.
- Screening and Waiting Lists: Responsible for screening individuals to determine eligibility and managing the shelter waiting lists.
- Resident Record Creation: Creates and reviews resident records created at admission.
- Documentation and Data Entry: Enters accurate objective documentation into the Mission Tracker system and completes automated intake process through Mission Tracker.
- Bed Assignment and Chore Management: Creates bed assignment along with resident chore and case manager.
- Program Expectations: Reviews expectations of the program to residents at admission.
- Property Search and Transportation: Conducts property search for each new intake and coordinates transportation needs for new residents.
- Customer Service: Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Referral Agency Coordination: Works with referral agencies to schedule admissions of those being discharged.
- Email and Report Management: Checks personal emails and MARS report daily and responds appropriately.
- Shift Coverage and Team Support: Assists the Program Staff at the Ft. Myers Shelter with various duties and shift coverage as needed.
- Team Meetings and Projects: Participates in Team meetings and projects as assigned by Intake Manager and Shelter Director.
- Spiritual Support: Presents the Gospel message and prays with residents when the opportunity is available.
- Core Values: Completes all job duties with St. Matthew's House core values as the guiding principle.
- Education: High School Diploma required or equivalent. Individuals with Certification in Addiction or behavioral health preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals who are homeless or suffering from addiction.
- Confidentiality: Works with highly confidential information.
- Mental and Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Physical Demand: Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4 hours at a time and lift at least 25 pounds. Must be able to bend or kneel to the ground.
- Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
