Job Summary

Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst II with a TS/SCI Security Clearance to support our government customer in Washington, DC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing the policy of the Counterterrorism Bureau.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a policy analyst in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Counterterrorism, providing expert advice and guidance on key policy issues.
  • Liaise with regional and functional bureaus within the Department of State and the interagency to communicate effectively and advance the policy of the Counterterrorism Bureau.
  • Advise the Office Director and Deputy Director on special projects, leveraging your expertise to drive results.
  • Support bilateral and multilateral diplomatic engagements, working closely with the Secretary of State and other Department and interagency principals.
  • Participate in interagency meetings, helping to prepare leadership for various local and international meetings, speeches, and presentations.
  • Conduct outreach to manage relationships with international organizations and NGOs, fostering collaborative partnerships.
  • Research, prepare, and review policy papers and briefing checklists on key topics, providing actionable insights.
  • Support the organization and conduct of conferences and meetings, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Support other projects as directed, including high-level USG visits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 plus years of experience preferred, with a focus on international studies, political science, national security, foreign policy, humanitarian assistance, foreign assistance, or counterterrorism.
  • State Department policy experience preferred, but policy experience for another federal agency in areas of foreign policy, humanitarian assistance, foreign assistance, or counterterrorism could be qualifying.
  • Able to be available for up to 20% overseas travel, with a strong ability to brief and work effectively with high-ranking officials.
  • Have a solid understanding of the paper process and other procedures at the State Department, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The contractor must be able to learn and retain the policies and viewpoints of the assigned office as they relate to current foreign policy situations and Bureau program activities.
  • Must have some understanding of interagency coordination and how to work across multiple organizations, with logistics experience related to convening or organizing meetings or conferences.
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment, with a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent will work primarily indoors, with occasional travel required.
