Join Our Finance Team
Foreign Policy is looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our financial accounting and reporting capabilities. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the monthly and annual closing processes of the general ledger, focusing on revenue recognition and expense documentation throughout the organization.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Generating monthly journal entries for revenue and expense accruals, conducting variance analyses against budget for income statement accounts, and performing month-over-month balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Ensuring timely completion of monthly and annual reporting obligations, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with relevant teams to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of data flowing into the general ledger.
  • Preparing schedules and supporting documentation for annual financial statements and tax submissions as required.
  • Compiling data and schedules for audit inquiries during interim and year-end audit periods, assisting both external and internal audit processes.
  • Creating data and schedules to support the annual budgeting process and interim forecasts.
  • Updating and developing documentation of processes and procedures to improve the quality of journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Conducting ad hoc financial analyses, engaging in special projects, and fulfilling additional duties as assigned.
  • Delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Adept at working collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to research and follow-through.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000. The final salary will be determined based on various factors, including relevant skills and experience.
