Position Overview:

HELIX Environmental is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Environmental Planning Manager to join our dynamic team. This role can be based in either our Pasadena or Irvine offices. We specialize in a wide array of services including environmental assessments, biological studies, landscape architecture, regulatory compliance, cultural resource management, and GIS applications for both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee significant environmental compliance projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and client expectations.
  • Engage in business development activities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders and identifying new client opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
  • Manage recruitment and mentorship initiatives for environmental planning staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Prepare and present proposals and qualifications to secure contracts, contributing to the company’s growth and profitability.
  • Represent HELIX in various professional settings, including team meetings, agency discussions, and networking events.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental studies, environmental science, public planning, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing environmental compliance programs, with at least 5 years as a consultant.
  • Strong business development skills and established relationships within the Southern California environmental sector.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • A thorough understanding of the environmental and regulatory landscape in Southern California.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners or as a Certified Environmental Planner.
