Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planning Specialist to join our team at CDM Smith. As an Environmental Planning Specialist, you will play a key role in conducting environmental impact assessments and analyzing data to inform project decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and analyze data to inform project decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and clients to research and resolve complex environmental impact-related design project issues
  • Review land use plans for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental and conservation laws
  • Prepare and review CEQA and/or NEPA documents, including environmental impact reports and environmental impact statements
  • Assist in public outreach and provide technical guidance and training to junior staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community, or Regional Planning or related discipline
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Expertise in CEQA and NEPA processes and requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
