Roadway Worker In Charge: A Critical Role in Railroad Safety

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe operation of railroads across various networks. Reporting to National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS), you will be responsible for overseeing jobsites and coordinating with dispatchers, train crews, and other personnel to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Jobsite Coordination: You will work closely with teams to plan and execute tasks efficiently, minimizing disruptions and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Effective Communication: Clear and concise communication is essential in this role. You will liaise with stakeholders, provide updates, and resolve issues promptly to maintain smooth operations.
  • Policy Enforcement: As an RWIC, you will enforce all relevant railroad, state, and federal regulations, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. We value candidates with a strong educational foundation and a passion for the industry.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOTs, or related entities is preferred. Your expertise in the Maintenance Of Way (MOW) Department will be highly valued.

Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
