The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 AUD, depending on experience.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our company values and contributing to our collective growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing quality relationships within the payroll team;
- Working as a team to manage the completion of fortnightly pay runs;
- Collaborating with the Human Resources Department to ensure all employee transactions are administered professionally and efficiently;
- Managing the administration of payroll files;
- Completing end-of-month functions and reporting;
- Responding to employee queries;
- Facilitating various payroll reconciliations and reports;
- Collaborating with multiple sites and teams, establishing relationships across the business;
- Calculating and managing superannuation contributions, Income Protection, Workers Compensation, and Parental Leave payments;
- Working with systems teams to continually test and improve our payroll.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in a similar role within a large organisation, ideally within the mining or resources industry;
- A solid working knowledge of the SAP SuccessFactors system;
- High-level computer literacy across the MS Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills;
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build strong functional relationships across all levels of the business;
- Customer-service focused and solutions-oriented, with the ability to think strategically and outside the box to achieve successful outcomes;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, with strong time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively;
- Innovative in thought, with an agile mindset, possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in a busy and dynamic environment;
- Comfortable using initiative and working without constant direction, with excellent attention to detail and consistently delivering high-quality and accurate work.
